Honolulu Freight Service, founded in 1937, provides cargo shipping and handling in Hawai‘i and between here and the Mainland. Local operations run from terminals in Honolulu and Kapolei, where goods are warehoused and transferred. Louise Loo has been a class A commercial driver’s license tractor driver with HFS for five years. Among the challenges, Loo says, are ensuring that flatbed trailer loads are safely loaded and strapped down. Among the perks is “You get into unique places and travel all over the island. We see a lot of places and back roads.”
