Linberto Refuerzo uses a sole press machine during the process of “spotting” or “fitting” a sandal’s upper to its outsole.

Each day at Island Slipper Factory, press operators process 600 to 800 pairs of slippers, in as many as 40 different men’s and women’s styles. Island Slipper says it has been designing and manufacturing its products in Hawaii for more than 60 years.
