Great Views, Free Vertigo for Hawaii Window Washers

A crew cleans the windows of the Pacific Guardian Center at the corner of Bishop Street and Ala Moana. Automated cleaning systems exist and are gradually being improved, but most high-rise owners prefer the human touch for their windows. The job offers fabulous views and built-in thrills, plus the constant element of danger. In April, a window cleaner lost consciousness while working on a Kapiolani Boulevard tower. Firefighters rescued the man, who was being held up by colleagues, by breaking through a window with their axes and lifting him to safety, KHON2 reported.
