Hawai‘i REALTORS® Names Cherie Tsukamoto as 2023 REALTOR® of the Year
Each year since 1967 the award has recognized an outstanding REALTOR® in Hawai‘i for work in the interest of fellow REALTORS®, the profession and the community.

Hawai‘i REALTORS®, a leading statewide professional trade organization for the real estate industry, has named Cherie Tsukamoto the 2023 Hawai‘i REALTOR® of the Year. The award was announced Sept. 28, 2023, at the Hawai‘i REALTORS® Trending Up conference at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Each year since 1967 the award has recognized an outstanding REALTOR® in Hawai‘i for work in the interest of fellow REALTORS®, the profession and the community.
“For more than four decades Cherie has dedicated herself to making the dream of homeownership a reality for hundreds of families across Hawai‘i,” said Kalama Kim, president of Hawai‘i REALTORS®. “Through her tireless service to our communities and to our profession, Cherie exemplifies the highest ethics and values of a Hawai‘i REALTOR®, and we are pleased to honor her as our 2023 Hawai‘i REALTOR® of the Year.”
Tsukamoto started her real estate career in 1979 while living on Kaua‘i. She is now Broker-in-Charge of Hawaii Life’s East Oahu office in Hawai‘i Kai, where she and her husband raised their three children.
“It is an honor to be recognized as the 2023 Hawai‘i REALTOR® of the Year,” Tsukamoto said. “My small beginning in Kauai real estate 40 years ago has become the adventure of a lifetime, and I continue to serve my clients and community with the same passion that set me on this path many years ago.”
Tsukamoto’s professional designations include Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®), Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI), Senior Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®), and Military Relocation Professional (MRP).
Tsukamoto previously served as a director for Hawai‘i REALTORS® and as the organization’s Education Committee chair. She was also a director for the Honolulu Board of REALTORS® and served as the organization’s Professional Standards and Arbitration Committee chair. She is a National Association of REALTORS® Graduate REALTOR® Institute instructor, Strategies instructor and Code of Ethics instructor.
Tsukamoto was honored in the 2023 cohort of Women Who Mean Business by Pacific Business News and received the 2022 Marcus Nishikawa Education and Professional Achievement Award from the Honolulu Board of REALTORS® for her volunteerism and active board and committee participation.
