Dancers in Harmony

Christianne Moss and Jose Miguel Rodriguez rehearse the opening duet from Act 2 of “The Nutcracker” ballet. “This is a partnering posture that usually concludes a pas de deux (dance duet) with something of a flourish,” dance instructor Micki Kolberg says.
Ballet Hawaii has performed “The Nutcracker” in Honolulu for over 40 years. This year marks the fourth time Ballet Hawaii has performed a Hawai‘i-themed Nutcracker choreographed by Hong Kong Ballet Artistic Director Septime Webre, Kolberg says. Professional dancers from Hawai‘i, New York City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet and Carolina Ballet will perform four shows at the Blaisdell Concert Hall in December, she says.
