CARL WILLIAMS IS A DOER. As the founding partner of CW Associates, CPAs, he’s welcomed the challenge of building a business and used his own success to service others. “I actively try to get things done and be a productive part of our community,” explains Williams, who currently serves as a member of The Salvation Army’s Honolulu Advisory Board, as well as chairs its Fundraising and Finance Committee. “Seeing all that The Salvation Army does in a day is truly inspiring. CW Associates, CPAs partners with The Salvation Army on various fundraising events, offering the firm’s employees exciting opportunities to promote positive changes and advancements within their communities. For a third consecutive year, CW Associates was named one of Hawaii’s Best Places to Work—an honor Williams attributes to the firm’s distinguished culture of care and its talented, hardworking professionals. An essential element to the firm’s mission is cultivating an inclusive and respectful team-based environment in the workplace. “You can’t be a pillar if you don’t have a good foundation,” says Williams. “We’re very proud of our little firm.”

With a staff of nearly 50 people, CW Associates, CPAs is the eighth largest CPA firm in Hawaii, providing accounting, auditing, and tax planning and compliance services to businesses (including nonprofit entities) and their owners. Working together with The Salvation Army, whether ringing bells at Christmas or volunteering at events, has gifted Williams and his colleagues with purposeful ways to elevate their professional and personal lives.
