Stephen was hired by Ford Motor Company in 1993 to work in the company’s Plastics & Trim Products Division, focusing on product and systems development. His first assignment was in Dearborn, Michigan, where he created a prototype lifetime air induction system for the Lincoln Mark VII. He relocated to the United Kingdom and provided technical and analytic support for Ford’s newly formed division in Dunton, Essex. After two years, he moved to Ford’s manufacturing plant in Sandusky, Ohio, where he helped bring new designs to a production-ready state. His final position at Ford took him to Ypslanti, Michigan where he worked on Ford’s first plastic engine intake manifold system. Ueda relocated to California in 2000 and led accessory manufacturing for Nissan at Altia Automotive Products. He moved to Hawaii in 2007 to take up the family business. Ueda worked a variety of positions including distributor sales representative, buyer, retail sales manager and vice president before assuming head of company in January 2017. BDS.
